News letter 2 - ÖTILLÖ 2011

With a little more than a month to race start things are starting to heat up. We have signed a partnership with Betsafe, which means that we will be able to offer LIVE betting during the race. We are also very plaesed to say that we as a race will support ALS Research, through a Swedish non- profit organisation called Hjärnfonden.

This is the 2nd of 4 news letters that you will recieve prior to the race. Please make sure that you read them carefully. Some of the info is repetitive some is not.

IMPORTANT DATES AND TIMES

A chartered ferry will take you to the start line. It leaves from Saltsjöbaden (25 minutes from city centre) at 1230 pm on Sunday, the 4th of September. You need to be on this ferry as it is the only way for you to be able to be in time for all going- ons at the Start line. The same ferry will take you back to Saltsjöbaden on Tuesday, the 6th of September at 11 am. This means that those of you flying to the race need to plan arrival on saturday the 3rd and departure on tuesday after 1430.

There is no other way or time to travel to and from the race unless you charter a boat at your expense.

Make sure you plan accordingly!

SPECTATORS AND FAMILY

As we are in the archipelago and that the race has grown so much there are a very limited number of beds available. We have therefore put together two spectator packages that you can book directly on our web site www.otillo.se. These will guarantee your friends or family travelling with you a place to sleep, eat and to see the race.

After August 20th there will be NO available spots left as we have to lock the numbers!

MANDATORY GEAR

It is important that you bring all Mandatory Gear (see rules) to the start line as no gear is available there.

Make sure you READ the rules.

LITTERING

During the 2010 race there was quite alot of littering along the course. This will NOT be accepted this year. Littering = Disqualification. Carry your litter to the closest trash cans, there are many along the way.

HOODIES

During the 2010 race all staff had Black ÖTILLÖ hoodies. Many people wanted these Hoodies and due to popular demand they are now available on the web site www.otillo.se

THE 2011 RACE COURSE

The race course 2011 will be very similar, if not identical to the 2010 course. This is available on the web site (about the race).

This is so we can provide the press with your info and provide BETSAFE with info so they can create betting odds.

TV PRODUCTION

The 2011 race will be sent on Swedish TV4 Sport as a 22 minute sports documentary in the end of October 2011.

We very much look forward to seeing you at the start line and to share this great race with you.

Race Directors

Hej vänner!

Med lite mer än en månad kvar börjar vi nu öka tempot. Vi har skrivit ett avtal med Betsafe, vilket innebär att vi kommer kunna köra LIVE betting under tävlingen. Vi är också väldigt glada att meddela att ÖTILLÖ stödjer ALS Forskning genom Hjärnfonden.

Detta är News Letter 2 av 4. Läs dem noggrant. Viss information är den samma som tidigare och en del är ny information.

VIKTIGA DATUM OCH TIDER

Ett chartrat fartyg kommer ta er till starten. Det lämnar Saltsjöbaden på söndag den 4e september kl 1230. Ni behöver vara med på detta fartyg, annars kommer ni missa all incheckning och tävlingsinfo i Sandhamn. Samma fartyg kommer ta er tillbaka till Saltsjöbaden den 6e september kl 1100. Det betyder att ni som flyger in måste sannolikt komma på lördagen till Stockholm och kan flyga hem efter 1430 på tisdagen.

Det finns inget annat sätt att ta sig till och från tävlingen om ni inte väljer att chartra egen båt eller med båt taxi.

Var säkra på att ni planerar enligt detta!

PUBLIK OCH FAMILJ

Då tävlingen går ute i Stockholms skärgård finns en begränsad mängd med sängar. Därför har vi satt ihop två publikpaket som går att boka direkt på hemsidan www.otillo.se. Detta kommer garantera att er familj eller era vänner har möjlighet att sova i en säng, äta och se tävlingen.

Efter den 20e augusti kommer vi INTE kunna ta meot fler personer då vi måste låsa fast våra antal.

OBLIGATORISK UTRUSTNING

Se till att ta med all obligatorisk utrustning (se Rules) till starten då det inte finns möjlighet att komplettera på plats.

LÄS reglerna!

NEDSKRÄPNING

Under 2010 års tävling förekom alldeles för mycket skräp längs banan. I år kommer detta EJ accepteras. Nedskräpning = Diskvalifikation. Bär med skräp till närmaste soptunna, det finns många längs banan.

HOODIES

Under 2010 års tävling hade alla funktionärer snygga, svarta ÖTILLÖ hoodies. Många andra ville ha en sådan Hoodie därför går de nu att beställa på www.otillo.se

2011 BANA

Tävlingsbanan 2011 kommer vara väldigt snarlik om inte identisk med 2010 års bana. Den finns tillgänglig på hemsidan (about the race).
